EGSF at the Embracing Black Diversity and Inclusion Forum (EBDIF)

EGSF at the Embracing Black Diversity and Inclusion Forum (EBDIF)

Date: 27th of April 2025

Location: Brampton, Ontario

EGSF was proudly represented by Director of Programs, Victor Ogbodo, at the Embracing Black Diversity and Inclusion Forum (EBDIF) hosted by Welcome Home African Community Services (WHACS) in collaboration with Nigerian Canadians for Cultural Educational and Economic Progress (NCCEEP), Which was funded by Canadian Heritage.

Held in Brampton, this impactful community event brought together Black-led organizations, policymakers, advocates, and residents to address critical issues affecting Black and newcomer communities across the Greater Toronto Area. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout sessions, participants explored pathways to equity in areas such as housing, employment, education, health access, and civic participation.

Victor contributed to a dynamic panel discussion on the role of community-based organizations in creating culturally responsive programs, supporting economic and social integration, and championing systemic change. The forum fostered dialogue, connection, and collaboration across sectors, highlighting the importance of centering Black voices and lived experiences in shaping inclusive policies and practices.

EGSF is committed to continuing its work alongside partners like WHACS and NCCEEP to strengthen the voices of African, Caribbean, and Black Canadians and advance collective action for lasting change.
